Miles Cohen
CEO & Founding Partner
As CEO & Co-Founder of Green Ash Partners, Miles is directly responsible for the management of the firm and is a key member on the investment committee. Miles has extensive portfolio management expertise at Green Ash, running discretionary funds and managed accounts for the firm’s clients. Miles has over two decades of experience in structured and vanilla credit and equity markets. Having worked through various periods of market and economic crises since 1998, Miles has developed specific skills in navigating extreme and unconventional markets. As well as focusing on capital preservation at all times, he has a track record of generating idiosyncratic outsized investment returns for clients by identifying extreme and dislocated markets. Examples include highly profitable pre-GFC protective credit derivative strategies in 2007 and in the subsequent recovery trades in US Agencies preferred shares and European subordinated bank debt. Prior to establishing Green Ash, Miles was a portfolio manager and senior capital markets adviser in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs in London. In this role, he was responsible for managing global credit and multi-asset class mandates for clients in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before that, Miles worked at Merrill Lynch for eight years in debt capital markets where he established a fixed income, currency and commodity team. While at Goldman, Miles worked closely with Nick Freeman and Edward Vincent before leaving to set up Green Ash Partners. Miles has a BA Hons degree in Industrial Economics from Nottingham University and is married with two children.
